Ⅰ. Program Background

LUISS University in Italy is a friendly cooperative institution of our college. The two universities have close cooperation in summer student programs and international conferences. Due to the global epidemic of COVID-19, offline exchange programs between the two universities were forced to stop. In the summer of 2020, LUISS University offered free online summer courses to undergraduates of our School in order to show support and concern for our school's fight against the epidemic. In order to further consolidate the friendship between China and Italy and promote the humanities and academic exchanges between the two universities, LUISS University will continue to open the winter camp courses for our students for free in 2021.

 

Ⅱ. School Introduction

LUISS university (Libera UniversitaInternazionale degli Studi Sociali) is located in the center of Rome, the capital of Italy, with three campuses. It is a private university founded in 1966 and enjoys a high reputation in Italy.  The school is a top private business school under the Confederation of Italian Industry and has a large and strong alumni resource in Italy and Europe.

Ⅲ. Program Introduction

 

1.  Course Introduction

 

The program will offer two thematic courses, both in English:

1）             Workshop in Global Politics

 

Focus: The European Union and the Middle East in contemporary global politics

 

（Focus: The European Union and the Middle East in contemporary global politics）

 

With a focus on the EU and the Middle East, the course explores how issues that have taken a central place in international affairs, including the EU's foreign policy and its relations with the world, the relevance of Middle Eastern cultural and political traditions, and the Arab Spring, relate to the major changes taking place in global politics.

2）             Orientation Workshop in Advanced Business Management

 

Companies and industries in a globalized world: the new challenges of the post-Covid era

 

（Companies and industries in a globalized world: new challenges in the post-pandemic era）

 

Globalization has dramatically changed the way businesses and institutions operate.  This course will illustrate the strategies developed by international companies around the world in recent years. Combining theory with illustrative cases, the seminar introduces how international companies define their international strategies, organize their value chains, enter different markets, implement their marketing strategies, and manage their financial and human resources. A specific lecture will focus on the case of the Italian luxury and fashion industry.

January 18 -- 21, 2021, a total of four days, two days for each theme course
