The Homecoming Event for Alumni of BNUBS in 2024 was Successfully Held

On the morning of September 8, the homecoming event of Alumni of BNUBS was held in Qiujiduan Gymnasium. Dean Yu Jihong attended the commemorative meeting and delivered a speech, and the heads of Schools and departments and related functional departments participated in the activities.

In the conference, the president's speech, the speech of alumni representatives, the award of the New Year flag, the issuance of the class liaison ambassador letter, the poetry recitation of “BNU and you”, “Campus morning”, “Walking in the light of China”, “Sleepless Tonight” and “My motherland” five songs, etc., have been praised by everyone. More than 1,000 alumni gathered together which has consolidated the deep friendship between the school and alumni.

In this commemoration, more than 260 alumni of BNUBS and their families gathered from all over the country to participate in the homecoming activities.

At 8:30 a.m., the Class of 1984 held a symposium on the 40th anniversary of their graduation “Common Feelings, Common Memories” in Classroom II 214. Cheng Shuli, former director of the Department of Economics, Zhan Junzhong, Feng Wenrong, former secretary of the General Party Branch, and Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, attended the symposium. Teachers and more than 30 alumni from all over the world gathered together to reminisce about the past, and shared the friendship between teachers and students.

At 1:30 PM, the Alumni Symposium on Talent Cultivation and High-quality Development of BNUBS was held in the conference room 9406 of the Jingshi Building. Dean Qi Yudong, Party Secretary Sun Zhijun, Associate Dean Hu Conghui, MBA Center Director Zhou Jianghua, Associate Director Li Jing, Associate Director Wang Lulu, MBA Center Corporate Contact and Career Development Director Yu Chen, Alumni Office Director Li Ani and more than 50 alumni participated in the discussion. The meeting was chaired by Han Lili, Associate Secretary of the Party Committee of the School.

First of all, on behalf of the School, Dean Qi Yudong extended a warm welcome to the returning alumni, and introduced the development of the School in recent years in detail from the aspects of discipline construction, scientific research, personnel training, teaching staff, and international development. Dean Qi said that BNUBS has made a series of brilliant achievements. Over the past 40 years, the School's alumni have spread all over the country and abroad, issuing beautiful “business cards” for the School with their contributions and achievements, and hoping to fully understand the needs of alumni through the symposium and invite alumni to give suggestions for the development of the School.

Then, Associate Dean Hu Conghui introduced in detail the development history, project design, curriculum system characteristics and the enrollment situation of various majors of the MBA program of the School to the alumni. The brand of the MBA program of the School is deeply integrated with the superior disciplines of Beijing Normal University, emphasizing the cultivation of international business management talents with humanistic spirit, and combining business education with humanistic quality in teaching practice. The alumni are expected to put forward valuable suggestions for the brand building and discipline construction of the MBA program.

Subsequently, the alumni made speeches on a number of topics such as brand and publicity, characteristic direction, ideological and political education and practical teaching, school-enterprise cooperation, and off-campus tutors, and combined their years of life and work experience, put forward the basic quality requirements for graduates from the perspective of employers. He put forward a series of feasible suggestions on the quality improvement of the School's teaching quality, personnel training and other aspects as well as the diversity of alumni activities in the future, and felt honored and pleased with the rapid development of the School, and expressed their willingness to contribute to the development of the School in all aspects.

Then, Secretary Sun Zhijun delivered a concluding speech. Facing the reunion of the alumni after many years, Secretary Sun Zhijun expressed his blessing to the majority of alumni, and thanked the alumni for their suggestions for the talent training and high-quality development of the School when they returned to the Alma mater, and shared their valuable industry experience and development path with the senior brothers and sisters, as well as the strong support of the alumni for the development of the School and BNU over the years.

Finally, Associate Secretary Han Lili thanked the alumni for their continuous attention and valuable opinions on the development and talent training of the School, and said that the conference will be used as a matchmaking meeting and implementation meeting to continue to explore new mechanisms for alumni work, empower alumni, and help the development of the School and students.

Thanks to the platform construction of the alumni Association, the enthusiastic organization of the contact person, the positive response of the classmates and the timely docking and preparation of the School, the activity has received good feedback from the alumni. BNUBS expects alumni to maintain close ties with BNU and the School, and work together to achieve further success.
