In order to further study and implement the theme education of socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the new era, in accordance with the deployment requirements of the Party Central Committee and the university Party Committee, on the morning of May 16, 2023, The School of Mathematical Sciences and BNUBS jointly carried out a theoretical learning in the conference room 1328 in the rear main building, through a combination of online and offline methods. The event aims to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two Schools, improve the theoretical literacy and professional ability of leading cadres, and promote the development of disciplines and personnel training. Members of the Party and government teams of the two Schools, members of the Party Committee, representatives of the secretary of the Party branch of teaching and work, and representatives of counselors participated in the study. The study was presided over by Tang Zhongwei, Party Secretary of the School of Mathematical Sciences.

First of all, Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, gave a wonderful Party lesson on the theme of "Digital Economy, High-quality Development and New Advantages of National Competition". He briefly introduced the underlying driving force, components and new characteristics of the digital economy era, and introduced the differences between the digital economy and the industrial economy in the form of enterprises, economic laws, key elements, growth paths, profit models, organizational structures and other aspects. He deeply analyzed the new development concept of innovation, coordination, green, open and sharing, pointed out that the digital economy reflects the high-quality development under the new development concept, and stressed the importance and necessity of our country to vigorously develop the digital economy. He explained how the digital economy helps our country achieve high-quality development from leading the construction of modern industrial system, enabling comprehensive promotion of rural revitalization, promoting coordinated regional development, building a high-level socialist market economic system and promoting a high level of opening up. He stressed that the development of the digital economy is of strategic significance to comprehensively build a national competitive advantage and achieve high-quality development. He proposed to coordinate the development of digital economy with the national strategy, and briefly introduced the relevant contents of the "14th Five-Year Plan" for Digital Economy Development. He pointed out that the development of the digital economy is a long-term systematic project, we should do a good job in key areas and key links, while "strengthening our advantages", adhere to the "complement the shortcomings". We should highlight the strengthening of the original innovation of digital technology, accelerate the realization of the internationalization of technical standards, advance the layout of digital infrastructure, take the industrial Internet intelligent manufacturing as the "main battlefield" of digital economy development and accelerate efforts to bridge the gap in the supply of digital talent. Mr. Qi's explanation allowed the participants to have a more comprehensive and profound understanding of the current situation and future development prospects of China's digital economy.

Then, Wang Kaishun, Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences, interpreted the General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on education, science and technology, and talents with the title of "The Practical Application of the General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Exposition on Education, Science and Technology, and Talents in Combination with the Actual Situation of the School of Mathematical Sciences.” The achievements and existing problems of the School in personnel training, teacher team construction, scientific research innovation, social service and so on are introduced. He pointed out that mathematics is the core and cornerstone of basic science and applied science, and an important force to promote the progress of human civilization and social development. It is necessary to thoroughly implement the important discussion of the General Secretary Xi Jinping on education, science and technology and talents, adhere to the fundamental task of cultivating people by virtue, adhere to the problem-oriented and demand-oriented, adhere to the connotation development and innovation-driven, adhere to the open cooperation and service to the society, and strive to build a first-class mathematical talent training base, a first-class mathematical innovation team and a first-class mathematical service platform.

In the discussion session after the study, leading cadres of the two Schools had in-depth exchanges and discussions on personnel training, teaching and research, and social services, shared their respective experiences and practices, and put forward cooperation suggestions and opinions.
