On the evening of May 7, 2023, the 17th lecture of the "Digital Economy and Management Lecture Hall" of BNUBS, "The Integration of Data and Reality and the Construction of New Development Pattern - Mechanism, Direction and Challenges" was held in the sixth Conference Room of JINGSHI HOTEL. Cai Yuezhou, Researcher of Institute of Quantitative and Technological Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Director of Digital Economy Research Department, was invited to deliver the lecture. Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, delivered a speech, and Li Jing, Associate Director of MBA Education Center, presided over the lecture.

Professor CaiYuezhou gave a lecture

First of all, researcher Cai Yuezhou analyzed the connotation of digital-real integration and new development pattern in combination with national policies, and believed that the connotation of digital-real integration is the technology-economic characteristics such as digital technology penetration and synergy. Through efficiency improvement and model innovation, traditional industries/fields can be enabled to create more value.

Researcher CaiYuezhou, through the analysis of the scope of the digital-real integration in different development stages and the smooth circulation mechanism, further concluded that the main battlefield of digital-real integration in the future is the industrial/industrial Internet platform, and accelerating the digital transformation of manufacturing industry and industrial Internet construction is the main direction and inevitable choice to promote the in-depth development of the digital economy.

Finally, on the basis of the research results such as the characterization and calculation of the state of digital-real integration, researcher CaiYuezhou analyzed the challenges faced in the practice of digital-real integration, such as the healthy development of platform economy and the digital transformation of manufacturing industry, as well as the basic problems restricting digital-real integration, such as key core technologies, digital new infrastructure construction, and data element circulation and security. Further, the direction and countermeasures of promoting the integration of data and reality were given.

In the interactive session, Researcher CaiYuezhou answered a number of students' questions on academic research and practical policy.
