The Symposium on "Global Trade Network Security" Was Successfully Held

On March 23, 2024, sponsored by BNUBS, the seminar "Global Trade Network Security: Model Construction and Application Based on Complex Systems" hosted by the research group was successfully held in Beijing Normal University.More than 20 experts, scholars and teachers from Beijing Normal University, University of Science and Technology of China, University of International Business and Economics, Capital Normal University, Beijing Technology and Business University and other universities participated in the meeting, and jointly conducted in-depth discussions on how to study global trade network security based on complex system modeling.

The first session of the seminar was moderated by Professor CaiHongbo of BNUBS.

Professor Han Zhangang, member of the Discipline Review Group of The State Council and Associate Dean of the School of Systems Science of Beijing Normal University, introduced the development history, classic theories and cutting-edge research of systems science.Professor LvLinyuan from the School of Cyberspace Security of the University of Science and Technology of China shared the research on the application of network information mining to the industrial chain and supply chain from the two aspects of node ordering and link prediction in complex network research.Zhang Chao, professor of the School of National Security and Emergency Management, Beijing Normal University, focused on the impact of extreme weather on food production, and used the GTAP model to assess the impact of global wheat disasters on different countries. Professor Chen Qinghua, School of Systems Science, Beijing Normal University, demonstrated the construction process of multi-scale trade structure model and introduced the performance of the model in the fields of globalization, Brexit, semiconductor trade and so on.

The second session was moderated by Professor Chen Qinghua from the School of Systems Science, Beijing Normal University.

Wang Ze, a lecturer at the School of Management of Capital Normal University, shared the research on targeted assistance of economic system based on the targeted strengthening path. Li Xiaomeng, Associate researcher at the School of Systems Science, Beijing Normal University, shared how to use indicators such as explicit comparative advantage and scaling law to reveal the general path of international trade structure upgrading implied in complex product trade data.Wang Yan, a lecturer at the School of Economics and Business Administration of Beijing Normal University, introduced the two-way role of capital, labor, science and technology and public policy against the background of population aging and globalization. Xu Licheng, a lecturer at the School of Economics and Business Administration of Beijing Normal University, focused on the security issues in the agricultural trade network based on the perspective of big food, and pointed out that in recent years, the trend of agricultural trade in some countries has shifted from trade efficiency to food security. Wu Zongning, a lecturer at the School of Computer and Artificial Intelligence at Beijing Technology and Business University, evaluated the impact of RCEP and other regional trade agreements on China through complex network modeling based on regional trade agreements and third-party effects.

The participating experts agreed that the symposium fully reflected the interdisciplinary characteristics and further affirmed the prominent role of interdisciplinary research in solving the current complex economic and social problems. Through in-depth academic discussion and dialogue exchanges, new research growth points have been stimulated in issues such as disasters and food, including globalization, which is of great significance to find out the direction of international economic research in the new era, and also provides a platform for interdisciplinary research cooperation in world economy and systems science.
