The School Successfully Held an International Summer School on Digital Economy

From June 24 to July 4, 2024, BNUBS successfully held the International Summer School of Digital Economy, which was attended by more than 300 undergraduates and international students from BNUBS.

The Summer School program consists of four parts. The first part is a special lecture on frontier issues of digital economy. From June 24 to 28, Zou Chuanwei, Director of the Frontier Finance Research Center of Shanghai Finance and Development Laboratory and Chief Economist of Wanxiang Blockchain, Lu Yue, Executive Director of the Global Innovation and Governance Research Institute of the University of International Business and Economics and Professor of the School of International Economics and Trade, Li Sanxi, Director of the Digital Economy Research Center and professor of the School of Economics of Renmin University of China, were invited respectively. Qiao Xue, Professor of School of Economics, Renmin University of China, Zhou Jianghua, Director of MBA Education Center and Professor of BNUBS, gave lectures. Topics include Artificial Intelligence, Data Elements, and Digital Finance, Next Generation Internet (Web3) : Trends, Business Value, and Applications, Digital Economy and High-level Openness, Digital Economy in General and How it Works, Central Bank Digital Currency, and Digitalization and Enterprise Innovation. Through cutting-edge special lectures, students will be guided to have a comprehensive understanding of the development trend and problems of the digital economy, and stimulate their enthusiasm for digital economy study and research.

The second part is to visit and study. On the morning of June 28, students were organized to visit the 13th China International Defense Electronics Exhibition, so that students could personally feel the latest achievements in the development of defense industry in the digital era.

The third part is the undergraduate academic forum activities. On the afternoon of June 30, students were organized to participate in the 10th Undergraduate Academic Forum of BNUBS, and through on-site observation of the academic paper reports of 6 senior undergraduate students, they broadened their academic horizons and formed a good academic research atmosphere.

The fourth part is the metrology course. From July 1 to 4, Wan Yuanyuan, Associate professor at the University of Toronto, Canada, was invited to give an online course on econometric methods. Focusing on the problem of causal identification in regression analysis, Professor Wan introduced the latest estimation methods and key assumptions in a simple way, laying a solid foundation for students' future academic research.
