In order to promote the smooth admission of the class of 2022 freshmen, help them better integrate into university life, guide their future growth, and "do good from the beginning” , BNUBS has organized a series of freshmen enrollment education activities with distinct themes and rich contents through a combination of online and offline methods since enrollment registration. This series of education activities is divided into four modules: education on BNU history and a general introduction of BNUBS, education on daily management and teaching training, Party education and professional education.

 

 

　

Education on BNU history and a general introduction of BNUBS　　

 

In order to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the founding of our School, guide the freshmen to understand the motto spirit of "Learn to be teachers and behave like the world", inherit the school motto spirit of "Promoting business and culture to serve the nation and the world through creating knowledge and educating talents", enhance the freshmen's sense of honor, identity and belonging, and cultivate the feelings of love for the School, BNUBS has organized educational activities on BNU history and a general introduction of BNUBS.

　

On the afternoon of September 7th, BNUBS had the permission and support from the Ideological and Political Education Department of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee to conduct the activity. First of all, Li Jing, the 2020 graduate student from the Department of Geographic Sciences, introduced to the freshmen the process of the establishment of the Party organization in the early stage of Beijing Normal University. Looking back on the history of history, the development of Beijing Normal University always resonates with the development of the country. Song Shanhu from the School of Foreign Languages shared the story of Qian Yuan, a great teacher who has exerted great impact on her life. Mr. Qian Yuan dedicated his life to teaching and devoted himself to study, never stopped inquiring about the cause of education. He deeply practiced our motto spirit of "learning to be a teacher and behaving like the world". Finally, Xu Mingyu, a 2020 graduate student from the School of History, introduced the story of Mr. Wang Rongting, an outstanding alumnus of our school, in three parts. Mr. Wang Rongting, with great passion and "idealism", has inspired all nationalities to contribute to the prosperity of New China.

 

 

In order to enable freshmen to understand the school's educational philosophy, development achievements and social influence as soon as possible, and to understand the current economic and social talent training trend through communication with alumni, the alumni forum of BNUBS "China's Economic Transformation and Development in the Digital Era" was held in the afternoon of September 8th, both offline and online in the conference room 1610 of the back main building and Tencent Conference. Chen Guangju, Vice President of Alumni Association of Beijing Normal University and former Vice President of Beijing Normal University, Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, Sun Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Committee, Zhao Chunming, Director of Academic Committee, He Liping, professor of Finance Department, Party and government leaders of the School, teachers and more than 500 students attended the forum.

 

　　

Sun Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Chen Guangju, Vice president of the Alumni Association, and Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony respectively. Zhao Chunming, Director of the Academic Committee of BNUBS, presided over the first half keynote speech, and Professor He Liping presided over the second half keynote speech. After that, the outstanding alumni of our School who worked in all walks of life made speeches respectively, expressing their deep affection for their Alma mater and mother school, and sharing the changes in the industry rules and research paradigm under the background of the digital age. In the end, Professor He Liping made a summary of the whole forum. He believed that the discussion and exchange of the forum were closely related to the pulse of The Times, fully demonstrated the profound background of teachers and the style of economic management. It also enables new students to follow the example of alumni predecessors, grasp the trend of The Times, and strive for success.

 

Education on Daily Management and Teaching Training

　

On the morning of September 7th, teachers from the Academic Affairs Office and Student Work Office of BNUBS conducted an online enrollment education activity for students' daily management and teaching training for Grade 2022 freshmen. Present at the event were Li Yingshu, Director of Graduate Education, Xu Xing, Director of Undergraduate Education, Han Lili, Director of Office and full-time counselor, Chang Xinyang, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee, Wang Jun, organization member and full-time counselor, Chen Su, Double-role counselor, Lan Rujia, Gao Jingjing, Li Rong, Zhang Huilin, Assistant Shi Huiyi, and all freshmen of Class 2022.

 

　

First of all, the participants reviewed the glorious history of BNUBS over the past 40 years in the form of a short film, learned about the School's development history, mission vision, discipline construction and faculty, and further deepened their understanding of BNUBS of " Promoting business and culture to serve the nation and the world through creating knowledge and educating talents". After that, Miss Han Lili explained the various financial aid policies of the BNU and the School in detail to the students, and conducted integrity education to the students, to enhance the students' integrity awareness in an all-round way. Ms. Chen Su explained the classification of household registration and the steps of household registration in detail, explained the working rules of archives sorting, and guided the students to complete the career assessment as soon as possible, so as to clarify the future employment direction. Ms. Lan Rujia emphasized the safety and stability of freshmen, reminded students to pay attention to the safety of personal life, property and public opinion, and introduced the School's psychological counseling service system, leading students to establish mental health awareness, in-depth understanding of themselves, and adapt to college life as soon as possible. Ms. Gao Jingjing guided the students on how to carry out class construction from six aspects, such as ideological and theoretical study, learning style construction and class team construction, and focused on explaining the school rules and discipline and student rewards.

 

 

At last, it is the education on talent cultivation. Ms. Li Yingshu, the director of graduate education, and Ms. Xu Xing, the director of undergraduate education, respectively explained in detail the ways of course selection, curriculum setting, training and examination scheme, student management system and so on, which has reminded everyone to get familiar with the curriculum and training process of the School as soon as possible, and complete the learning task with high quality.

 

 

Party Education

　　

On the morning of September 7, Chang Xinyang, secretary of the Youth League Committee of BNUBS, taught the freshmen "Hold high the banner, follow the party and fight for the great rejuvenation of China”. He combined with the red history of Beijing Normal University, advocating the students to bear in mind General Secretary Xi Jinping’s expectation on normal university students, inherit the wisdom of the ancestors and carry forward their spirit and shoulder their responsibilities. Then, the Youth League Committee of BNUBS, the Student Union and the Graduate Union recruited new students. Zhang Kexin, the deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School, Zhu Yuzi, the president of the Student Union and Zhao Jialiang, the president of the Graduate Research Association of the School introduced the structure and work content of each student group to the students respectively, expecting more students to join the student organization of the School.

 

 

On Sept. 15, BNUBS held a lecture on Party membership education in the second lecture room of the Chemistry Building. Mr. Wang Jun, organizer of the Party Committee of the School and full-time counselor, gave a lecture titled "Are you ready to join the Party?". Mr. Wang Jun introduced the nature of the Communist Party of China, and introduced a number of outstanding representative party members' advanced deeds, so that the students have a deeper understanding of the spiritual lineage of Chinese Communists and the motivation to join the Party. Then, Mr. Wang Jun introduced the basic obligations of party members, the process of party member development and the points for attention in writing the application for Party membership, so that the students have a clearer understanding of qualified Communist Party members. Finally, Mr. Wang Jun quoted Mr. Gao Yubao's application for joining the Party in the form of painting, expressing his ardent hope and deep blessing to the students. He hoped that the students could support the leadership of the Party, establish lofty social ideals, draw closer to the Party organization actively, and become a member of the Party organization as soon as possible!

 

 

　

Professional Education

　　

In order to help students clarify their learning goals as soon as possible and enhance their learning motivation, each major invites the department head, teachers' representatives and outstanding student representatives to communicate with freshmen in an online and offline way to carry out distinctive and pragmatic professional cognition education.

　　

Each department head and faculty representative introduced and communicated with the students in detail about the general situation of the department, major training program, training process, characteristic projects, classroom teaching, academic planning, professional quality and employment direction of the major respectively, and interpreted the knowledge system and learning paradigm of the major to the freshmen through vivid cases. While sharing their own professional cognition, they also guide and lead the freshmen to make their own future plans.

 

 

Freshman entrance education is an important part of college students' ideological and political education, and also the key to guide freshmen to adapt to college life. The smooth implementation of the admission education activities for the class of 2022 of BNUBS encouraged students to plan their college life carefully, give full play to the initiative of self-management, and have the courage to explore progress and formulate effective action plans. It is hoped that the freshmen can have a comprehensive understanding of university life through the rich and detailed explanation of various teachers, and adapt to the new journey with the right values and clear goal planning.
