On the afternoon of September 8, 2022, The Alumni Forum of BNUBS, in celebration of 120th Anniversary of Beijing Normal University, which titled "China's Economic Transformation and Development in the Digital Era" was held simultaneously in conference Room 1610 in the back main building and Tencent Conference room online and offline. Chen Guangju, Vice President of the Alumni Association of Beijing Normal University, pointed out that at the 120th anniversary of the founding of Beijing Normal University, he was delighted to see the growth of  the alumni and students of BNUBS. He hoped that the alumni would actively promote and spread the school-running philosophy and development achievements of the Alma mater, practice the school motto of "Learn to be teachers and behave in the world", make joint efforts for the "double first-class" construction of the university, and contribute the wisdom and strength of the people of Beijing Normal University to the social development and national construction. At the same time, he sincerely invited the alumni to visit the Alma mater frequently.

Ye Jingyi, an economics undergraduate of Class of 1978 and a professor at the School of Economics of Peking University, first expressed her gratitude to her Alma mater and her excitement to see the great progress made by her Alma mater. She shared an ongoing study on the topic of the forum: Nominal Farmers and Ownership Rights. Professor Ye pointed out that the effect of the land management right investment policy on the operational efficiency of land is restricted by the scale of one-time investment required by the centralized contiguous land and standardized operation. Based on the current policy that families are the contractors of land, it can be expected that over time, the population who change their household registration through schooling, employment and other means will gradually increase and lose the right to contract.

 

Shen Yue, class of 1996 and a professor of the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Normal University, was very happy about the achievements made by her Alma mater and the School in recent years. At the same time, he talked about the past and the present and expounded three main views: the process of globalization and the current round of globalization and digitalization; common rules of globalization and digitization; China's opportunities and challenges. Lin Tao, senior vice president of Shell Housing Group, who graduated from Beijing Normal University with a bachelor's degree in economics (Class 88) and a master's degree in economics (Class 95), shared several photos from his school days, which evoked the memories of many alumni. Next, he introduced Shell Group as a digital enterprise serving consumer housing, which was established 21 years ago and the annual sales volume of the platform has reached 3.85 trillion yuan. Zhu Tingjun, PhD of Economics from Beijing Normal University (2002) and vice president of Lanzhou Jiaotong University, expressed his birthday wishes to his Alma mater and greetings to the teachers and students of BNUBS, and then shared his views on the digital transformation of enterprises. He proposed that to build a digital enterprise, it is necessary to gradually improve the thinking of digital nerve, and the new infrastructure of education is to tamp the digital base of education. He put forward five key points in detail and their impact on talent training mode. He brought the latest results of digital research, namely in-depth analysis of the impact mechanism of digital economy development on industrial structure optimization and verification based on the Yangtze River Delta region. The feature of this study is that, with the rapid development of digital economy, it explores the relationship between the development of digital economy and the optimization of industrial structure under the background of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, and tests the spatio-temporal consistency before and after the implementation of the integration strategy of the Yangtze River Delta.

  

Li Chang 'an, a professor of the School of Public Administration of the University of International Business and Economics, mentioned in his speech that he spent his bachelor's degree(class of 1897), master's degree(class of 1996) and doctoral degree(class of 2004)in Beijing Normal University. He also dug out his graduation certificate and showed it to everyone one by one. Feng Weijiang, a graduate of Beijing Normal University with a bachelor's degree in economics (1998) and a master's degree in business administration (2002) and Deputy director of the Institute of World Economics and Politics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, put forward three judgments on the development of digital economy. One is that the development of digital economy was about labor in ancient times, capital in modern times, and data in modern times. Second, lack of development is the biggest insecurity. Third, in developing the digital economy, we should pay attention to the effective linkage between the new national system, competition policies and industrial policies. He pointed out that the BNUBS's focus on the digital economy is at the forefront of The Times, and he expects the school to achieve more landmark achievements in this field in the future.

 

Chen Yunsen, a 2003 undergraduate majoring in accounting from Beijing Normal University and vice dean of Graduate School of Central University of Finance and Economics, is the first graduate majoring in accounting. His keynote speech is securities regulation in the age of numerical intelligence, and he introduced theories and methods around the core issue of whether regulation can be identified. His research team is pioneering new research using machine learning methods to predict and identify regulatory inquiries based on the financial and governance characteristics of listed companies.

 

Zhou Jin, a 2003 undergraduate of Finance and 2007 Master of Economics, who is also a student in the Department of Economics at the university of Chicago and Researcher of Human Development Economics Center, expressed her the ardent expectations of students of Alma mater. By elaborating many examples of the diligent efforts and eventual success of economic masters, she told the younger students to have a reasonable development plan with an international perspective for their life, including how to effectively apply for higher universities and have a broader development in the future labor market. She pointed out that the increased opportunities brought by the digital economy require people to pay more attention to the importance of education and the development of their multiple skills.

  

As a professor in a world-renowned university, Wan Yuanyuan, an undergraduate student in economics of Beijing Normal University and an associate professor in the Department of Economics of the University of Toronto, put forward from the perspective of economic research that the process of digitalization has great advantages in data, which provides more and better opportunities for quantitative research and gives Beijing Normal University a good opportunity to try to be first-class in economics research. He wants the students to work on basic theory first, but also on general skills.

  

As a Master of Education Economics and Management of Beijing Normal University (grade 07) and Doctor of Education Economics and Management (grade 09), Tian Zhilei, associate researcher of China Institute of Education Finance Science of Peking University, introduced himself and mentioned that he was a "kite" and an "educational economic researcher walking in rivers and lakes". Because of his study in Beijing Normal University, he engaged in academic research all over China after graduation, and realized the localization and field research. He shared the results of his research on the skills needed to develop the textile industry in the digital age. He suggested that to promote the innovation of traditional industries in the digital age, education reform should be promoted, especially the integration of production and education.

 

  

Zhang Yueyao, an undergraduate student of class of 2015 of Business Administration at Beijing Normal University and a doctoral student of the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University, expressed his joy and encouragement to see the familiar face of the teacher and the school's development getting better and better. She believes that life in the digital age is interwoven, and needs to value integrity and openness. Taking herself as an example, she told the students of her Alma mater to actively absorb and integrate resources from all sides with an open mind and collaborative spirit to improve their own development. She hoped that the teachers and sisters would stick to the people-oriented approach, improve their empathy and coordination ability, and think from the altruistic perspective.
