On the afternoon of April 26, 2022, the English Program Construction and Development Seminar & the revision of training program meeting were held smoothly. Liu Baocun, Dean of the Institute of International and Comparative Education, Ma Dongyao, Associate Director of Training Office of the Educational Affairs Department, Chen Juan, Associate Director of Recruitment Office, Liu Tao, Associate Director of Foreign Affairs Office, Zhang Yujing, Training Office of the Educational Affairs Department, Liu Wei, Director of Teaching Office of Education Department, Xiao Xiao, Educational Secretary of English Program, Peng Jinyu, International School of Chinese Education, Sun Zhijun, Party Secretary of BNUBS,Xie Jia, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Li Liya, Director of English Programand teachers of the English Program, includingYang Chengyu,Di Chengfeng, Guo Ji, Zhu Min, Liu Pan, Kong Haiyang attended the meeting. CaiHongbo, Associate Dean of BNUBS chaired the meeting.

Liu Tao, Associate Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, gave a speech at the beginning. He praised the achievements of the English Program of BNUBS, and put forward suggestions on the joint development and sharing of public courses and general education courses in the program. He said that the International Office would continue to pay attention to and strongly support the development of the English program. Sun Zhijun, Party Secretary of BNUBS, said in his speech that BNUBS has always attached great importance to the international talent training program, which is not only regarded as an important part of the Chinese and English talent training system, but also aims to serve as a strong support for the school's international development strategy.

Then, Xie Jia, Director of the Office of International Exchanges and Cooperation introduced the construction and development ofEnglish Master program of "World Economy and China" and English Doctoral program of "International Development" from professional setting, student enrollment, students characteristics, as well as the course design and graduation requirements, students' employment.

Liu Baocun, Dean of the Institute of International and Comparative Education, introduced the history and development status of the English Master program and the English Doctoral program of "Educational Leadership and Policy", and communicated with them from the aspects of enrollment scale, quality of students, diversity of countries, characteristics and problems encountered in talent training. He also put forward some suggestions on the management of international students, recruitment and training policies of international students.

Chen Juan, Associate Director of the Admissions Office of the Educational Affairs Department, interpreted the recruitment policy and management of the School from the aspects of the scholarship application of international students, the scholarship policy of the committee for studying abroad, and the recruitment process of international students, as well as some problems existing in reality.Ma Dongyao, AssociateDirector of the Educational Affairs Department, combined with the problems and experiences encountered in the training of international students in the past, as well as the positioning and planning of the international talent training program of the university, put forward expectations for the training of international students of the department and expressed support.

Professor Yang Chengyu, Teacher of the English program of our School, put forward suggestions on the recruitment and selection of international students and curriculum setting. He suggested that we should select outstanding students, propose scholarship funding mechanisms and make it is favorable for students inASEAN countries to attract students in top Asian universities and provide funding for students who have good learning foundation and willingness to learn, so as to improve the quality of students and optimize the training level. Associate professor Di Chengfeng and Associate Professor Guo Ji, combining with their own teaching experience and the development characteristics of international students, shared their opinions from the aspects of course design and arrangement.Zhang Yujing, Director of the Training Office of the Educational Affairs Department, Liu Wei, Director of the Teaching Office of the Education Department, and Xiao Xiao, Secretary of the English Program communicated with each other on the requirements of the revision of the training program and the credit setting.Participating teachers also actively participated in the discussion, and put forward many constructive suggestions.

The Seminar on the Construction and Development of English program of BNUBS was successfully concluded. In the near future, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office will complete the revision of the training program according to the requirements of relevant departments of school, the suggestions of experts and teachers, and the demands of students.
