Staff of BNU’s Labor Union Came to BNUBS for Investigation

On the afternoon of April 12th, Wang Xianfang, Executive Associate Chairman of the BNU’S labor Union, He Liping, Educational Affairs Department (Graduate School) and staff from the Counselor Development Center of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, altogether 5 people, came to investigate the situation regardingYouth Teacher Competition and Youth Staff Competition of Beijing Universities. Party Secretary Sun Zhijun, Cui Xuegang, representative of outstanding teachers, representatives of teachers who won prizes in the two competitions, including Jiang Jie, Fang Fang, Li Kun and Wang Lulu, and Han Lili, representative of Labor Union attended the discussion.

 

Wang Xianfang, Executive Associate Chairman of Labor Union, first explained the purpose of the investigation. The purpose of this discussion is to collect opinions and suggestions from all units on the two competitions, further optimize the arrangement of the competition, and to build a learning and communicating platform for young teachers of various positions in the School through the holding of the competition, thus strengthening the goal of "establishing morality and cultivating talents".

 

Sun Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Committee, introduced the overall situation of the School and put forward suggestions on improving the two competitions from several aspects: firstly, we need to magnify the positivity of the competition, improve the systemand encourage more young teachers to promote development through competition; secondly, we should take the competition as an opportunity to summarize and refine the School's talent training concept and mode; Thirdly, we need to give full play to our disciplinary advantages, follow the digital development trend and improve teaching quality by using digital platform.

 

Han Lili, member of the Trade Union, made a special report on the teachers' participation as well as the experience and suggestions of relevant organization and training workin the two competitions.

 

After that, the participating teachers had a full exchange of experience and improvement suggestions on the two competitions. Associate Dean Cui Xuegang put up suggestions on evaluation criteria and theoretical achievements of competition. Teacher Jiang Jie suggested that the Youth Teacher Competition should better integrate teaching content and skills to improve the standardization of scoring.Teacher Fang fang suggested that we make early arrangements on the schedule of the competitions and share the excellent teaching cases and demonstrations with more teachers. By sharing his experience of participating in Beijing Youth Teacher Competition, Teacher Li kun hoped that Beijing Normal University, as the initiator of Youth Teacher Competition, could continuously improve its brand power and benefit more young teachers. Teacher WangLulu shared her experience of participating in the Competition and suggested that the post-match communication and experience sharing should be added in the future.

In the end, He Liping, teacher from Educational Affairs Department, pointed out that the Management Department should innovate in the context of great changes in both teaching concepts and teaching methods, and suggested that we should invite experts in educational technology to provide more forward-looking guidance.

 

Through this exchange, we hope that the university's original intention of "shaping value, infiltrating culture and promoting education through competition" went deeper into the Schools and departments and that more young teachers will participate in the competitions to promote learning, reform and development, and enhance talent cultivation and administrative ability!
