Time flies fast. We are saying goodbye to the year 2021 and are going to engage in new journey in the year 2022. At this beautiful moment of ringing out the old and ringing in the new,on behalf of BNUBS, we would like to extend our most sincere New Year wishes to all the faculty, students, staff, retired comrades, alumni at home and abroad, leaders at all levels and people from all walks of life who have been caring and supporting the development of the School for a long time.

 

Never forget where you started, and your mission can be accomplished.The year 2021 marks the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and the start of a new journey to fully build a modern socialist country.In the past year, the School has adhered to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and carried out the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth Plenary sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee.Under the strong leadership of the Party Committee of the university, we carried out the party history study education, teachers' theory study and teachers' morality and ethics special education, carried forward the fine tradition, continued the red blood, and always kept in mind the original mission of "educating people for the Party and the country". More than 30 teachers and students of the School participated in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China in the square chorus, dedication group, volunteer service team, student phalanzas and the national Stadium performance of the Great Journey of the Students choir, etc., and completed the tasks excellently. The School thoroughly studied and implemented the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on inspection work, and carried out the "two maintenance" based on the feedback from the central inspection and the university Party Committee's inspection, and made new progress and achievements in various work.    

 

We should continue to carry out reform and innovation based on current achievements. This year, we continued to adhere to the fundamental task of moral education, further integrating resources and highlighting the characteristics of disciplines.The School has been approved to offer a doctoral program in Applied Economics, and has established a teaching and research team of "Political and Economic History", striving to become a first-class discipline team in the forefront of China. Finance, International Economics and Trade, and Accounting have been selected as national first-class undergraduate majors. The undergraduate major of Economics has been selected as the 2.0 Base of 2020 Top Students Training Program of Basic Disciplines of the Ministry of Education. The major of Business Administration has been selected as one of the construction sites of "Double Thousand Plan" for 2020 First-class undergraduate major in Beijing. We have promoted the comprehensive reform of talent cultivation of "three talents" and "five talents simultaneously", further promoted the "Education and Teaching Discussion", and cooperated with Beijing Local Financial Supervision Administration and Tsinghua University Wudaokou Financial College to explore the innovation of China's fintech talent cultivation. In MBA education, we seek progress while maintaining stability, continuously improved the education quality guarantee system and internal control mechanism, and further improved the education quality and education brand. We have significantly enhancedits functions in talent cultivation, discipline construction, practice connection innovation and educational resources convergence. Also, we have achieved goals in all three dimensions ofEQUIS international accreditation.

 

Practice is what carry you forward. In the past year, we continued to do scientific research, and served economic and social development. The School has been approved 4 major projects and 2 key projectsby the National Social Science Foundation and 3 projects in other national research funds. Several teachers have published 7 academic papers in Economic Research and Management World, and the number of articles included in international top journals is increasing. We have also held many high-level forums, including the First Fintech and Digital Economy Development High-level Forum, The 2th Theme Forum of China Corporate Governance Experts 50 Forum & The 15th China Corporate Governance Forum, Chinese Enterprise High Quality Development Frontier Forum, the fifth Capital Business Forum, The First China Economist International Economics Frontier Forum, and the 11th China Labor Market Development Forum & Press Conference of China Labor Market Development Report 2021. Through the hosting of these high-level forums, we have improved our reputation and social influence.

 

 

Great efforts have paid off. In the past year, we adhered to the strategy of strengthening the School with talents, and teachers and students have received good news frequently. Two cases of the School were selected as "National Top 100 Cases",Teachers have been awarded the "Youth Top-notch Talents" of "Ten Thousand Talents Program","The Sixth National Award for Outstanding Achievements in Education and Science", "Excellent Achievement Award of Beijing Philosophy and Social Sciences","Famous Teacher of Higher Education in Beijing", "Yang Jiwan Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Monograph on Accounting", "Construction Project of Ideological and Political Demonstration Curriculum of The Ministry of Education", "The first batch of Excellent Cases of Ideological and Political Education in Undergraduate Courses of Guangdong Provincial Education Department", "Third prize of Liberal Arts in the 12th Basic Teaching Skills Competition for Young Teachers in Beijing Colleges and Universities" and other awards. The student team won the champion of "Sun Cup" football match, the first prize of MBA/ Postgraduate Group in the final of the 13th "Jianfeng Moment" National Simulation Competition, and the first prize of "ZhongCai Cup" 2021 Future International Business Negotiation Elite National Competition. The teachers and students forged ahead in great stride and have made great achievements hand in hand.  

 

 

The world is surging ahead and we aim to be riders of the tides. In 2022, Beijing Normal University will celebrate its 120th anniversary. The School will continue to uphold the motto of "Learn to be a teacher and act as an example to the world" and practice the mission of "Benefiting the world and promoting culture through business". Adhering to the new development stage, implementing the new development concept and constructing a new development pattern, we will promote high-quality development, work hard and forge ahead, and make unremitting efforts to build a first-class School of Economics and Management with cultural heritage and international influence. We hope to pay tribute to the 120th anniversary of Beijing Normal University and contribute to the realization of the second Centenary Goal of China!
