Li Keqiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Premier of The State Council, visited the State Administration for Market Regulation on Nov 1 and presided over a symposium on developing and strengthening market players. Professor Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, attended the symposium as an expert representative.

At the symposium, leaders of the State Administration for Market Regulation made reports, and leaders and experts of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Self-employed Workers' Association, Wumart, Development Research Center of The State Council and other units made speeches. Premier Li Keqiang pointed out that in recent years, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, we have continued to improve the socialist market economy system, made cultivating and strengthening market players an important focus of deepening reform to delegate power, improve regulation and services and innovatively carry out macro regulation, and market players have multiplied. In the face of complex and austere domestic and international environments, we needed to follow the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics For A New Era, act in accordance with the requirements of basing ourselves on a new stage of development, applying a new development philosophy, building a new development pattern, and promoting high-quality development. We should also continue to carry out reform and opening up, and make cross-cycle adjustments. We would strive to overcome obstacles on the road ahead, keep the economy operating within an appropriate range, and ensure steady and long-term growth.
