In order to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on education and the spirit of the National Education Conference, Implement Several Opinions on Deepening the Reform and Innovation of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Schools in the New Era issued by General Office of the CPC Central Committee and General Office of the State Council and thoroughly Implement the Guidelines for the Ideological and Political Construction of Courses in Colleges and Universities , Two courses of BNU have been selected as ideological and political demonstration courses by the Ministry of Education after being recommended by the organization, selected by experts, evaluated by conferences and publicized on the Internet. Among them, the course "Economic Globalization and Contemporary Chinese Economy" lectured by Professor Zhao Chunming from BNUBS was selected, and he was also awarded the honorary title of National Ideological and Political Teaching Master by the Ministry of Education.

This course belongs to the general education course of the social development and civic responsibility module of the school. It was launched in 2012 and launched on the iCourse website in 2013 under the name of "Walking Into the Economic Globalization". In 2014, it was selected as the National Excellent Video Open Course, and in 2016, it was selected as the Model Course of Undergraduate Teaching Reform of Beijing Normal University. In 2019, it was recognized as the first batch of core general education courses of Beijing Normal University, and in 2021, it was selected as the key construction project of curriculum ideology and politics of Beijing Normal University.
