Education and Teaching Discussion: Undergraduate Basic Course Construction

In order to implement the university's deployment of "2020 Education and Teaching Discussion", and strive to create a scientific and effective discipline growth environment for undergraduates, on April 15th, 2021, the Teaching Steering Committee of the College organized a special seminar on the construction of basic undergraduate courses by combining online and offline methods. Professor Qu Ruxiao, the chief author of the Teaching Steering Committee of the College, presided over the seminar.

 

In order to better understand the needs of students, 5 representatives of Grade 2020 students (Cao Shurui, majoring in Finance, Gao Yunyang, majoring in Financial Science and Technology, Gao Ruogu, majoring in Business Administration, Cui Yufei and Wang Yanqi, majoring in Accounting) were invited to attend the seminar. The student representatives introduced their learning,feelings , expectations and difficulties. Mr. Chang Xinyang, Mr. Wang Jun and Mr. Chen Su, the representatives of the undergraduate counselors, made supplementary introductions about the difficulty of the course, the direction of students' training and the interests of students. Yang Haijia, the undergraduate education administrator, introduced the current setup of basic undergraduate courses and the allocation of teaching teachers.

 

The basic course of undergraduate serve as an important foundation to strengthen the interest and belief of freshmen. The Teaching Steering Committee of the School would strengthen the construction of courses such as Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics and Management, and discuss the construction of teaching teams, parallel courses and the optimal allocation of teachers. The school would further implement the three aspects of education, and constantly improve the teaching management (curriculum, Lihong Plan, Freshman Tutor Plan, Academic Festival for Undergraduate Students), professional education and community activities.
