Moon HWY Chang  Foreign Professor of International Trade Department

 

He got his doctor’s degree in the University of Washington and has taught at the University of Washington, Stanford University, University of the Pacific, State University of New York at Stony Brook, Helsinki School of Economics in Finland, Keio University and Hitotsubashi University in Japan, as well as Seoul National University. He was once Dean of the School of International Studies, Seoul National University. He is now a professor at the University of Seoul Graduate School of Science and Technology (ASSIST) and the ambassador of Korea for the promotion of investment and commerce.

 

Professor Moon's research fields include international competitiveness, global business strategy, investment, cross-cultural management, Korean (and Asian) business and economics, and the creation of shared value. He has developed a variety of academic theories, including the Investment Imbalance Theory, the Double Diamond Model of Global Competitiveness, and the ABCD Model of Strategy at all levels including countries, industries, firms, and individuals/leadership. His recent books include The Strategy for Korea's Economic Succe ss (Oxford University Press, 2016) and The Art of Strategy: Unrolling Sun Tzu, Michael Porter (Cambridge University Press, 2018). He is currently the editor-in-chief of International Journal of Business and Economics , an international academic journal.

 

 

Kong Haiyang    Lecturer of the International Trade Department

 

He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Economics at the University of Connecticut and his bachelor’s degree from Qian Weichang College and Department of Finance, School of Economics, Shanghai University. His research fields include labor economics, international trade, migration, and environmental economics.

 

In his doctoral dissertation, Kong studied the impact of China's institutional reforms since the 1980s and the trade shocks caused by China's entry into the WTO on U.S. public primary and secondary education spending and immigrant integration. In addition, Dr. Kong's also studies the effects of environmental policies on air pollution.
