Recently, after being appraised by experts, publicized to the public, reviewed and approved by the Award committee and approved by the Ministry of Education, The list of winners of the 8th Outstanding Achievement Award for Scientific Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Institutions of Higher Education has been officially announced. A total of 1,539 awards were awarded this year (including awards from universities in Hong Kong and Macao). Among them, there were 1241 awards for papers and works, including 152 first prizes, 783 second prizes and 306 third prizes. There were 77 consulting service report awards, including 10 first prizes, 47 second prizes and 20 third prizes. There were 20 awards for popular reading books and 201 youth achievement awards.

To carry out the work of appraising outstanding achievements in scientific research (Humanities and social Sciences) in colleges and universities is a major measure taken by the Ministry of Education to commend and reward outstanding achievements made by philosophy and social science workers in colleges and universities, display the major theoretical and practical achievements of social science circles in colleges and universities in serving the development of the Party and the country, and promote colleges and universities to speed up the construction of philosophy and social science with Chinese characteristics.
