On March 9, 2020, Qi Yudong, dean of BNUBS and Sun Zhijun, chairperson of BNUBS hosted an online party-government meeting to study and deploy the epidemic prevention and control and development work of our college in the new semester. All the party and government leading team members of our college attended the meeting. During the meeting, all members held a video link with students in Wuhan, express care and sympathy of our fellows.

First of all, the meeting conveyed and learned the spirit of epidemic prevention and control from the superiors, and the leaders in charge shared the epidemic prevention and control information and had in-depth exchanges and discussions on further implementing the epidemic prevention and control work.

First of all, President Xi Jinping's important instructions on COVID-19 prevention and control and the work arrangements of BNUBS were studied:

(1) President Xi delivered an important speech at the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC on February 26. He analyzed the current situation of the epidemic and made careful arrangements for the key tasks and major measures for the prevention and control of the epidemic in the near future as well as economic and social development.

(2) Cheng Jianping, Party Chairperson of BNU, put forward three requirements for the recent work. First, we must strengthen epidemic prevention and control. Second, we will continue to promote the implementation of epidemic prevention. Third, the development of BNU has to speed up.

(3) Dong Qi, president of BNU, pointed out that the prevention and control of COVID-19 should be strict, ensuring that the prevention and control should be carried out at the same time as the promotion of educational reform and development. First, we focused on research and solved difficult problems. Second, we focused on practical results. Third, we focused on epidemic prevention and development.

Sun Zhijun reported the overall situation of all the faculty and staff, undergraduates, academic postgraduate students, doctoral students and international students of BNUBS, and introduced the distribution of all the teachers and students in various provinces and cities, the isolation of teachers at home in Beijing, the retired teachers outside Beijing and the actual situation of international students.

Sun proposed that our college should resolutely implement the policies and measures of the superior and BNU and make contributions to ensure campus safety. We should combine the characteristics of teachers and students of BNUBS with the needs of all kinds to prevent and control the epidemic. At present, we should pay special attention to the approval of the quarantine application for the faculty and staff who are returning to Beijing; pay close attention to imported cases, keep close contact with overseas students of BNUBS, get and fill in information timely and accurately, and carry out relevant policies for overseas students applying to return to Beijing. Leaders in charge should perform their respective duties, keep the information and data in mind, and communicate with the leaders of BNUBS in a timely manner.

Sun put forward an overall idea for all aspects of recent work of BNUBS. In terms of party building work, party branch theme activities can be carried out centering on the epidemic situation and online teaching, and colorful online party branch activities can be organized. In terms of student work, we should develop online platforms and channels, pay attention to the situation of various student groups, and innovate the way of student work. In terms of teaching, we should ensure the quality of online teaching and timely share teaching experience. In terms of enrollment, according to the unified requirements of BNU, we should make enrollment arrangements and timely deal with emergencies. In terms of discipline and scientific research, we should promote the development of various works, organize online academic meetings in a timely manner, and encourage teachers and students to carry out special studies related to the epidemic. In terms of financial budget, all departments should tighten their budgets in 2020, further simplify their budgets and strengthen their awareness of economy. In particular, they should budget well the funds for discipline construction, put forward reform plans and strengthen the overall planning of our college. In addition, based on the previously established love service team for isolated faculty and staff, the team will be further expanded to timely understand the needs of in-service and retired faculty and staff. Students should pay special attention to the worst-affected areas, students from poor families and graduating students.

Ge Yuliang, deputy chairperson of BNUBS, informed the students of the relevant measures on the situation and information statistics since the outbreak of the epidemic, which have covered all the students. During the epidemic period, the student work team also carried out various works in thought leading, academic guidance, psychological counseling, employment guidance, financial aid management, etc. We have organized online activities such as the meeting of party branch secretaries, the meeting of monitors, etc., established corresponding ledger, actively paid attention to students' thoughts and psychological dynamics, and tried our best to address students' demands.

Zhang Pingdan, associate dean of BNUBS briefed that under the leadership of Tu Qingyun, vice president of BNU, the academic affairs department (graduate school) and the information network center of BNU conducted an online survey on the remote teaching work of BNUBS since the beginning of the new semester. During the epidemic period, the overall opening rate of the college was around 80%. 67 teaching assistants, class cadres of different grades and some teachers summarized the teaching progress. The sub-committee of our college organized an online feedback survey on the teaching effect. The academic affairs department of our college will continue to strictly implement the teaching arrangements to effectively serve teachers and students and ensure the quality of online teaching.

Cui Xuegang, associate dean of BNUBS, informed us of the changes in time cut-off points for the application of various projects during the epidemic, as well as the application status of the special project of the impact of COVID-19 on China's economy, management and response of our college as well as the high-quality views or results of the teachers in various media. Our college has also set up a special team to collect and collate epidemic data, which will be available to the faculty and students of our college.

Cai Hongbo, associate dean of BUNUS, briefed the epidemic prevention and control work of the international students. We will further strengthen the communication and strive for full coverage of the epidemic on a daily basis. Affected by the epidemic, the international visits of faculty members and the short-term visits of foreign students have been cancelled. The arrival time of foreign teachers has been postponed, the China-Australia forum has been postponed, and most of the WEC English courses have been postponed. The notice for the short-term visits has been issued according to the original plan.

Secondly, the party and government leading groupmade the announcement of on the recent concrete work and discussed the decision. In terms of personnel, we informed and discussed the 2019 annual performance award plan, the young scholar forum and the AEA annual meeting to interview potential talents of BNUBS. In terms of teaching, we informed the MBA case competition, MBA admissions second interview, performance review status of all kinds of exams, admissions score line, and the graduation thesis, mentor admission qualification adjustment, One - MBA admissions, etc. and discussed the financial science and technology, business management, digital enterprise management) and other professional settings and MIB project management system. In terms of internationalization, the related costs of EQUIS certification as well as the progress of AACSB certification were reported. In terms of discipline, the QS ranking, soft subject ranking and the completion of the 13th five-year plan summary report of the college were reported. In terms of scientific research, we reported the progress of the academic promotion plan of BNUBS and the report of the achievements of office of philosophy and social sciences.

Qi Yudong summed up the speech at last. On behalf of BNUBS, he first expressed his heartfelt gratitude and sympathy to the teachers and students because since the outbreak of the epidemic, they have actively supported and cooperated with the BNU and BNUBS in various measures of epidemic prevention and control, effectively guaranteeing the orderly start of work in all aspects, including online teaching. Qi put forward relevant requirements on the recent key work of our college:

First, continue to maintain the epidemic prevention and control, and further improve the quality of online teaching. Second, each department should detail its 2020 annual work plan. Third, closely follow the requirements of the fifth round of subject assessment. Fourth, prepare for the application of applied economics doctoral program. Fifth, start compiling the outline of the 14th five-year plan. Sixth, promote and implement the establishment and training programs for the majors in financial technology and business administration (digital enterprise management). Seventh, explore the new evaluation index system of scientific research achievements. Eighty, accelerate the AACSB certification work.
