On January 8, 2020, BNUBS held its 2019 annual meeting and talent training meeting in conference room 9406 of the Center for International Academic Exchange of Beijing Normal University. The meeting was presided over by Sun Zhijun, chairperson of the party committee of BNUBS.

 

In the morning, the talent training meeting was held. Zhang Pingdan, vice president of BNUBS, first reported on the talent training work of our college and introduced the overall work idea for the next step. The focus of undergraduate training is to further enhance the professional characteristics, the focus of academic graduate training is to further improve the quality of training, while that of professional degree (MBA) is to further enhance the brand influence. We should adhere to the requirements of moral education and the needs of society, respond to the needs of students, and carry out the deployment of full-scale education——whole-staff education, whole-process education and all-round education to build first-class majors and disciplines.

 

Wang Yonggui, vice president of Capital University of Economics and Business and special teacher of Cheungkong scholars, was invited to give a report on the training of new business talents.

 

Afterwards, teachers of BNUBS divided into three groups, namely undergraduate training, academic postgraduate training and professional postgraduate training, held a heated discussion and made a group report.

In the afternoon, the work report meeting of the leading group was held. Sun Zhijun first conveyed and interpreted the Opinions on Further Strengthening and Improving the Construction of Teachers' Morality, Notice on Strictly Standardizing the Participation of Cadres in Various Seminars and various financial and economic documents issued by the higher authorities. He stressed the need to improve the professional quality of teachers, pay attention to the whole-staff education, whole-process education and all-round education.  Next, Sun carried on the whole-year work summary and the debriefing. According to the requirements of the party committee of BNUBS, party building will focus on educational activities with the theme of never forget your original intention and keep your mission firmly in mind. The leading group will carry out various research activities to find out problems and rectify them and carry out all personnel work in an orderly manner. Financial expenditures were made more standardized, and steady progress was made in combining business and financial resources with budgets. Finally, Sun put forward the three direction of the future work—— how to adapt to the new characteristics and new trends of economic and social development, innovative talent training characteristics of growth and development of new disciplines, how to promote the forefront of academic research ability and the ability to solve the country's social major problems, how to further enhance cohesion and to build the culture atmosphere of the pursuit of excellence.

Ge Yuliang，associate chairperson of BNUBS，reported from both the student work and the alumni work. In terms of student work, we have strengthened the system construction, formulated the student party branch work manual, established the democratic evaluation index system, innovated and inherited the brand activities, formed the image logo, and devoted ourselves to cultivating students with ideals, responsibilities and abilities. In terms of alumni work, we have organized alumni to return to school，held 17 alumni forums and interviewed 12 alumni，convened the third member representative conference of the alumni association of BNUBS and the second member representative conference of the MBA alumni chapter，made good use of the opportunity of the 40th anniversary of BNUBS to strengthen the contact with alumni, improve alumni information, actively strive for alumni resources in order to seek the support and help for the development of students and our college.

 

 

Ge Yuliang reported on the work

 

Cui Xuegang, associate dean of BNUBS, reported the related work of international certification and scientific research management of our college. In 2019, through the joint efforts of all the teachers and students, we have passed the re-certification of EQUIS. In terms of scientific research management, we have won 11 national-level provincial and ministerial projects, among which 3 are major projects of social science, increasing year on year. However, the number of general projects of social science and self-science needs to be improved. Three teachers won the 15^th Beijing philosophy and social science outstanding achievement award, and one teacher won the Pushan World Economics excellent paper award. A total of 40 SSCI and 83 CSSCI papers were published, and there were papers published in foreign top journals, but the publication of Chinese top journals declined. During the academic exchange, we held 26 high-level academic conferences, 15 forums for famous scholars and 37 small academic seminars. We will continue to promote the accreditation of AACSB and encourage teachers to apply for social science projects and self-science projects.

Cai Hongbo，associate dean of BNUBS，reported the work of internationalization and discipline construction. In 2019, the first overseas teaching and research base was established in Tokyo, Japan. The international doctoral program has been approved to enroll students. The influence of the Capital Economic Forum will be further expanded. In terms of discipline construction, the preliminary research work of the fifth round of discipline evaluation was launched, and the basic data tracking and analysis of discipline ranking were started. In 2020, we plan to expand short-term overseas study and exchange programs, establish cooperation platforms with international organizations, and develop international training programs. To welcome the fifth round of subject evaluation by the Ministry of Education, the 14^th five-year discipline construction and development plan of our college will be formulated.

Finally, Qi Yudong, dean of BNUBS, made a brief summary of the whole college work from several aspects——the discipline construction, strengthen moral education, scientific research, teaching staff, international cooperation and international certification, 70^th anniversary of the new China, 40^th anniversary activities of BNUBS, donations and revenue and reported from individual morality, ability, work, performance and honesty. He pointed out that the main problems facing the development of our college include: the talent training model needs to be improved; the total number of teachers is insufficient and academic leaders are scarce；imbalance between disciplines; donations and revenue generation are relatively woefully inadequate. In the future work, we should pay attention to the cultivation of talents and promote the fourth industrial revolution to make the digital economy permeate and endow the existing disciplines. In the end, he concluded that our college has been developing steadily in the past year, and the goals set at the beginning of the year have been basically achieved. At the same time, it faces many challenges. It is hoped that in 2020 and during the 14^th five-year plan period, all the teachers and students of our college can make persistent efforts to make breakthroughs and progress in solving the key bottlenecks restricting the long-term development of our college.
