As selected as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate program construction site, major of Economics, a undergraduate program of BNUBS, has entered a new stage.

Recently, the Ministry of Education officially released the list of national and provincial first-class undergraduate program construction sites (namely, “Double Ten Thousand Plan”) in 2019. The undergraduate program, major of Economics, from BNUBS is included. Beijing Normal University started the program in undergraduate level in 1979. The program was awarded as the special specialty construction site and approved as the innovative experimental project of the Ministry of Education. Now it is selected as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate program construction site.

Initiated in April 2019, the Ministry’s “Double Ten Thousand Plan” aims to fully revitalize undergraduate education, improve the talent training ability of colleges and realize the connotative development of higher education. It plans to develop 10,000 first-class undergraduate programs at national level, and another 10,000 at provincial level, within 2 years. This year, 19 programs initially submitted by BNU are approved as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate program construction sites, and 5 programs as the provincial first-class undergraduate program construction sites.

Further, BNUBS will play a demonstration and leading role of the “Double Ten Thousand Plan” construction site, continuously improve the specialty construction planning, strengthen the specialty characteristics, so as to promote the overall improvement of the talent cultivation capacity and quality.
