On the morning of November 18th, President Qi Yudong meets Dr. Julio Raffo, the director of Innovative Economy Office, Economics and Statistics Division, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Ernest Miguelez, the WIPO consultant and researcher at the France’s National Center for Scientific Research and at Bordeaux University, and Dr. Yin Deyun, researcher of Innovative Economy Office, Economics and Statistics Division, WIPO at Room 1610. The associate dean Cai Hongbo and Professor Qu Ruxiao from International Economy Department attended the meeting.

Dean Qi welcomed Dr. Julio Raffo and his delegation to visit Beijing Normal University, and briefly introduced the subjects, scientific researches and databases of BNUBS. He especially pointed out that intellectual property issues in the digital economy deserve the attention and joint research of scholars at home and abroad. Dr. Julio Raffo said that the WIPO values the Chinese universities and research institutions and is willing to conduct in-depth exchanges and cooperation on research reports and data. The two sides also discussed on the topics like visiting scholars and visiting international student internship programs, and agreed to promote the implementation of specific programs as soon as possible.

Dr. Julio Raffo and Dr. Ernest Miguelez attended the Expert Forum of BNUBS and respectively gave lectures to the teachers and students of BNUBS on the World Intellectual Property Report 2019 and “knowledge transfer and technical change” that afternoon.
