On March 27, 2019, the School of Business of the Beijing Normal University, held the first "dean" face to face for the first time this year. Dean QiYuDong, also secretary of the Communist Youth League, Ge Yuliang, vice secretary of the School Branch Party Committee, and other party members or secretaries, Zong Yibo, chairman of the Student Union and Wang Yuandong, chairman of the Graduate Student Union, and six other student representatives attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ge Yuliang, deputy secretary of the party committee.

In the beginning, Ge explained that the dean's face-to-face meeting was held to understand and improve students' work. This meeting is mainly meant to discuss and understand the issues of students through the student representatives. In the future, more college leaders, teachers and students will be invited to participate in the meeting.

Dean Qi stressed the importance of talent training and student work, and the need to put students first in university education and management. No matter undergraduate or graduate students, they should start their academic career planning on the basis of their future career planning when they enter the university. In this regard, the college will provide targeted tutoring to students. In addition, the college plans to implement the talent cultivation mode that combines professional mode and mental mode organically, and pay full attention to the shaping of students' good mental mode while continuously improving the quality of professional talent cultivation.

After that, the present students had raised questions, involving holding academic lectures of high levels, strengthening practice teaching, to develop "entrepreneurial BBS", strengthening the recreational activity, purchasing professional database, improving the scholarship selection mechanism, supporting enterprise practice, increasing student activity funds, and other issues. Qi Yudong, Ge Yuliang, Chang Xinyang answered students' questions one by one, fully affirmed the students awareness and contribution for the college student management work, encouraging student cadres to understand the needs of the students and problems, and to carry out a variety of extra-curricular activities in a planned way and at the same time continuously improve their own organization and management ability.

Finally, Dean Qi Yudong points out that the "dean of face to face" meeting is just a beginning. It will be held for once every two weeks, by which students can raise their questions of all aspects of life and get a reply or a solution. Students are welcomed to reflect their questions through various channels to the college and the school will do their most to help the students to grow whole-heartedly.
