On March 18, 2019, the welcome ceremony for University of Macerata’s short-term study program in China was held by our school.This project enrolls 14 international students from Università degli Studi di Macerat, or University of Macerata of Italy and 6 student volunteers from our college. Ms Xie Jia and Ms Li Jinya, respectively the deputy director and the program leader of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of our university, attended the welcome ceremony.

First of all, Xie, on behalf of the college, extended welcome and cordial greetings to the students coming from afar, and introduced the Beijing Normal University and the college to the students. Then Li introduced the project arrangement and the transportation, food and safety precautions around the school to the students. After the introduction of the school and the project, 14 Italian students were led by student volunteers to visit the campus and the history museum of BNU.

The two-week program will provide students with Chinese language learning, business courses, corporate visits (Quanjude, or Beijing Roast Duck restaurant, Beijing University Students Pioneering Park), Chinese culture experience (paper-cutting, traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, Tai Ji) and other activities.

Marchetta University of Italy is one of the important overseas cooperative universities of our university. In 2011, we jointly established a Confucius institute, on which in-depth cooperation in various fields have been carried out. Since 2012, our college and the University of Machelata have carried out exchanges and cooperation in many aspects such as exchange visits between teachers and students and scientific research cooperation.
