On Feb 26, 2019, Professor Mutsumi Sakai, dean of the graduate school of J.F.Oberlin University and Professor Renyun, who is also an alumnus of our university visited our School. Sun Zhijun, Deputy Party Secretary of our School received the guests.

This is a return visit by Professor Sakai and Ren Yun after Sun and his delegation visited J.F.Oberlin University in the middle of Jaunuary. On the basis of the initial conversation, they talked deeper on the topics of building the BNU Business School-J.F.Oberlin Center (Tokyo), MBA 2+1 Project, short and long-term students programs, exchange teachers and the BNU Business School’s New Year Forum in Tokyo, etc.

J.F.Oberlin University from Japan Visited Our School

Based on the cooperation between the two parties and the academic achievements of Professor Sakai and Professor Ren Yun in their fields, our School decided to appoint two professors as visiting professors of our School. On the morning of February 27, a visiting professor appointment ceremony was held. Assistant dean CAI hongbo presided over the ceremony, and Secretary Sun Zhijun presented appointment letters to the two professors.

Then, Professor Sakai and Ren Yun introduced the BNU Business School-J.F.Oberlin Center (Tokyo) project to our students and focused on the Chinese class of the Asian MBA and also made detailed introduction of the MBA 2+1 Project, which will soon be open to our MBA students. The students have also had a full communication on the study and life issues in Japan with the professors and teachers.

The J.F.Oberlin University dates back to 1921 and was founded by Mr. Yasuzo Shimizu (1891-1988) in Beijing. Mr. Yasuzo Shimizu returned to Tokyo in 1946 and founded a primary school under the name Obirin Gakuen."Obirin" means "cherry tree" and "beautiful" in Japanese. The name honors Mr. Yasuzo Shimizu, whose educational philosophy was deeply influenced by the French educator Jean-Frederic Oberlin. In honor of Mr. Oberlin, the school renamed the entire educational group J. F. Oberlin University and its affiliated schools in 2006. At present, the J. F. Oberlin University has developed into a multi-disciplinary comprehensive university, with a total of more than 9,000 students. The graduate school of this university has six research directions: business management, Asian business management MBA (taught in Chinese), cultural and creative management MBA, entrepreneurship MBA, management practice (corporate culture) MBA, and efficient management. The cooperation between our school and J. F. Oberlin University can be traced back to the 1990s. J. F. Oberlin University and our university have signed the cooperation agreement at the beginning of 2000.
