On May 5, 2018, in the “Fifth IMA Higher Education Summit Forum” held by Xi’an Jiaotong University, BNU obtained IMA higher education accreditation, becoming the one of the seven universities of the second batch to obtain the accreditation in mainland China after the first batch of six schools such as Peking University.

Founded in 1919, the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants), the world’s leading management accounting organization and one of the largest and most influential professional accountant associations in the world, provides the most important accreditation and high-quality service for management and financial professionals within companies.

Being the only teaching quality accreditation in the field of management accounting education in the world, the IMA Higher Education Endorsement Program is the professional accreditation of management accounting education quality voluntarily carried out by universities and colleges based on professional accrediting agency’s certification.

BNUBS was successfully certified by EQUIS in 2016, indicating that the wide recognition of BNUBS’s education quality and internationalization level by international counterparts.

Over the years, adhering to the centennial historical and cultural heritage, BNUBS is committed to cultivating high-quality management accounting talents with good humanistic and scientific literacy, extensive professional foundation, broad international vision, high innovation ability and entrepreneurship, and the courage to practice. In addition to major courses of management accounting, BNUBS also carries out management accounting education through social surveys, participation in entrepreneurship competitions, and management accounting project research. What’s more, BNU has participated in the IMA campus management accounting case competition for many years and won numerous regional championships in the North China Division, including the national championship of the IMA Campus Management Accounting Case Competition, making active efforts in higher education of management accounting.

Obtaining the IMA Accreditation of Higher Education means that the management accounting system of BNU, with a high level of management accounting education, is able to provide students with a successful career and standardized and rigorous management accounting courses required by management accountants. In the future, BNUBS will also integrate resources, actively strengthen internal and external cooperation, and promote the further improvement of management accounting education through various means.
