Double-employed Professor Appointment Ceremony & Symposium Were Successfully Held

On the morning of April 25, 2018, the Appointment Ceremony and Symposium of BNUBS were held in Room 9406 of Jingshi Building of BNU.

To integrate the academic disciplines and promote the development of academic disciplines, BNUBS appointed Professor Liu Chao and Professor Ma Yina from the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning of the Department of Psychology, BNU to be the double-employed professors. Lai Desheng, Dean of BNUBS attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Other participants of the appointment ceremony and symposium included: Cui Xuegang, Vice Dean of BNUBS, Su Song, Director of Marketing, doctoral students, postgraduates, undergraduates, MAB, and teachers and students from BNU. The ceremony was presided over by Vice Dean Cui Xuegang.

In Dean Lai Desheng’s speech, he congratulated the two professors and hoped they would make greater academic achievements in the cooperation with BNUBS. Then he issued letters of appointment to the two professors.

In the subsequent symposium, which was presided over by Associate Professor Su Song, Professor Liu Chao made a thematic discussion entitled “Study on the Brain Mechanism of Self and Others’ Value Processing” and Professor Ma gave a thematic sharing entitled “Oxytocin’s Impact on Economic Decision-Making Behavior.” After the speeches, the teachers and students raised questions. The brilliant symposium, which broadened participants’ vision ended in warm applause.

 

Introduction of the Double-employed Professors:

Liu Chao, Professor of the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning of the Department of Psychology, BNU, young talent of the “forthcoming” program of Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. In 2010, he graduated from the Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is currently a member of the Emotion and Health Branch of the Chinese Psychological Society, a member of the Artificial Psychology and Artificial Emotion Committee of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, and a member of Society for Social Neuroscience (S4SN) China Branch. His research direction is emotion and social cognitive neuroscience and mainly focuses on the regulation and brain mechanism of emotion in social cognition, especially moral cognition and the application of emotion in education, management and public security.

Ma Yina, graduated from Department of Psychology, Fudan University in 2007 with Bachelor of Science and from Peking University with Ph.D. in Psychology in 2012. From 2012 to 2015, she engaged in the post-doctoral research in the Department of Psychology and Brain Sciences at Dartmouth College, one of the Ivy League schools of the United States, and the Lieber Brain Development Institute, School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. She is currently a researcher at the National Key Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Learning of BNU and a researcher at the IDG/McGovern Institute for Brain Research. She also serves as a reviewer for several international SCI journals, an editorial consultant for Emotion , an authoritative journal in the field of emotion, an academic editor of the international core journals of Science reports and Front Hum Neurosci ; an editorial board member of Molecular Neuropsychiatry and Plos One ; and an executive committee of the International Association for Social and Emotional Neuroscience.
