The 8th Quarterly Conference of the Labor Economics Forum Was Successfully Held

    On January 13, 2018, the 8th Quarterly Conference of the Labor Economics Forum was successfully held at BNU. The forum, which is jointly organized by BNUBS and the editorial department of Economic Perspectives, aimed to provide a high-level academic exchange platform for labor economic researchers at home and abroad. More than 50 papers were submitted and 28 papers were selected.
    At the beginning of the conference, one of the organizers, Dean Professor Lai Desheng, welcomed the participants and expressed his hope for the flourishing development of China’s labor economic theory and empirical research and wished the Labor Economics Forum to be held successfully.
    Subsequently, the participating economists reported and exchanged their research results. Professor Li Shi summarized the contents of the first unit of the report and commented on each report topic.
    Next, six parallel sessions with topics of education, gender differences, labor market, labor income, rural labor and mobility, and household expenditure and etc. were set, in which scholars presented the latest academic achievements, had in-depth ideological exchanges and collisions, and together committed to the further development of labor economics research.
    A number of teachers and students from BNUBS attended the conference. Among them, professors Yang Juan, Chen Jidong, and Xu Hui from BNUBS reported the latest research papers “Education Policy, Skill Bias and Left-Behind Children”, “ ‘Youth’: Evidence from CHIP2002 Embittered Winners: Rights Deprivation and Conduction Shift” and “Housing Price Changes and Settlement Will”. Dr. Yang Peng’s research paper “Will New Economy Industry Bring Better Income? –An Empirical Study Based on the National Monthly Labor Force Survey Data” was also included in the report.
    The 8th quarterly conference of the Labor Economics Forum was successfully concluded.
