A Visit from the University of South Australia

On March the 18th of 2016, a group of guests from the University of South Australia Business School arrived at BNU for a meeting to discuss future cooperation details; South Australia University members include their Business School Dean Prof. Susan Freeman, Prof. Gurd from the School of Management and Prof. Ying Zhu, who is the Director of the Australia Centre for Asian Business. They were warmly greeted by BNU Business School Dean Prof. Lai Desehng, BNU International Exchanges and Cooperation Director Liu Lengxin and BNU Business School International Office Director Xie Jia.

 

Prof. Lai welcomed South Australia University guests for their second visit to BNU Business School and introduced development progresses that we made in the recent two years; also a series of internationalization activities which are to be held this year, including: The Capital Business Forum cooperatively organized with American University (AU) Business School; China-Hungary Annual Academic Seminar, China-France Annual Academic Seminar and BNU Business School – IBS Summer School program. Prof. Lai invited teachers and students from the South Australia University to participate in our academic activities, hoping that the two business schools could enhance communication and connection based on current cooperation grounds. Prof. Freeman fully praised BNU Business School’s current progresses made on EQUIS accreditation, and expressed his interest in BNU Business School’s upcoming events, saying that he will recommend relevant events to South Australia University teachers and students. Prof. Freeman also showed interest in certain BNU Business School programs, including the Maxdo English-taught undergraduate program, the WEC Master’s program for international students and the MBA program. She said that she hopes the two business schools could start mutual cooperation with English-taught programs for short-term exchange students. Joint cultivation programs are also under discussion.

Being a founding member of the Australian Technology Network of universities, the University of South Australia is a public research university formed in 1991 with the merger of the South Australian Institute of Technology (1889) and Colleges of Advanced Education (1856). With more than 32,000 students, it is the largest university in South Australia. Becoming accredited by EQUIS in 2004, the University of South Australia is among the world’s top universities. The cooperation between BNU and the University of South Australia began from 2012, BNU Business School have sent five undergraduate students abroad since then.
