On March the 9^th of 2016, the BNU Business School Institutional Conference was held in Jing Shi Building Conference Room. This meeting was hosted by BNU Business School Sub Party Committee Secretary Sun Zhijun, who emphasized the new tendencies raised on the university administrative meeting. Combined with university Party construction key points, he also proposed important items that Business School should focus on in its future development. BNU Business School Dean Lai Desheng introduced the main university administrative focus in year 2016, also proposing his arrangements for BNU Business School in the new semester based on current situations. Associate Dean Cui Xuegang gave a general report on the EQUIS accreditation progress.

Business School Sub Party Committee Secretary Sun Zhijun started by summarizing key points of the university administrative meeting raised by University Party Committee Secretary Liu Chuansheng, including: feedback on Education Ministry inspection from the central inspection group; central conference spirits; main focus of BNU university development in 2016; as well as important university development arrangements in the new semester. The four major themes of this year are: reform and innovation, talent strategy, internationalization and strengthen Party self-discipline. In 2016, BNU University Party construction key points include: “Two Study One Operation” learning educating activity, “Fundamental Party Construction Year” activities, ideological publicity, administrative development, student ethic cultivation and campus safety measurements. Combined with key points of university Party construction, Secretary Sun Zhijun proposed four important items that Business School should focus on in 2016: carry out university Party construction requirements; further strengthen Party justice and incorruption; further improve democratic decision-making mechanism; enhance management and supervision to strengthen the regulation system construction and implementation.

Combined with BNU President Dong Qi’s key requirements on university administration in 2016, Dean Lai Desheng then proposed his arrangements for BNU Business School form seven aspects based on current development situations and target: careful preparation, high attention, full dedication, prepare for international accreditation assessment; establish the BNU Business School “13th Five Year Plan”, adjust and enlarge the academic committee, discuss the formation of a professor committee, enhance regulation system construction and implementation, enhance business school management according to university regulations; enhance morality education, enhance innovative talent training mode, raise standards on undergraduate graduation thesis, integrate the cultivation platform for international and local students, increase English taught courses, promote case database construction, host international summer school programs, increase alumni services for graduated students; further strengthen first-class discipline construction, including the 2016 Education Ministry discipline assessment, discipline internationalization strategies, cross platform construction, High-level talent strategies; strengthen scientific research platform construction, improve innovation abilities, including think tank construction, key projects and article publication on prestigious journals; enhance international communication and cooperation, organize international forums such as BNU-GATE and BNUIE Workshop; strengthen Party self-discipline, Party members taking the leading role in constructing a harmonious school culture.

Associate Dean Cui Xuegang gave a general report on the EQUIS international accreditation progress based on current situations, self-evaluation report key points and the following procedures. Since the formal activation of BNU Business School’s EQUIS accreditation, there have been over 50 meetings to discuss relevant information, including general seminars, administrative meetings, group meetings and management research seminars. Regarding the current progress, we have accomplished necessary procedures such as document preparation, international council committee establishment, English website construction, confirming teachers who will be attending the interview, contacting invited experts, EQUIS baseroom construction, student representative recruitment…ect. Associate Dean Cui Xuegang then emphasized key points of each chapter in the accreditation report and proposed arrangements for the next session, including training, interview simulation as well as the formal accreditation interview.

The meeting ended as BNU Business School Sub Party Committee Secretary Sun Zhijun concluded that we need to self-exam and summarize our work constantly, which contributes to the long-term development of BNU Business School.
